Strength: Loctite 271 provides a high-strength, permanent bond (adding about 3,000 psi holding power on slip and press fit assemblies).
Application: It is ideal for fasteners in engines, machinery, and vehicles, such as valve covers, water pumps, and alternators. It also helps protect threads from rust and corrosion.
Curing: It is an anaerobic adhesive, meaning it cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces. It sets in approximately 10 minutes and achieves full cure in 24 hours.
Removal: Due to its permanent nature, it is difficult to remove with hand tools alone. Disassembly typically requires localized heating of the parts to approximately 500?F (260?C) before using hand tools.
Resistance: Once cured, it is highly resistant to various fluids including gasoline, diesel, motor oil, water, and glycol. It operates in a temperature range from -65?F (-54?C) to 300?F (149?C)
